Free Childcare for 2 Year Olds

The Early Learning Programme (ELP) for 2-Year-Olds is a Government initiative that provides free childcare places for eligible children. Parents and Carers can submit an application here and quickly check whether your child is eligible for a free place. It takes only a few minutes and you will get an answer straight away. If eligible, you will be able to download a confirmation letter and a code, which you can take to participating Childcare providers to claim a free place for your child.

Please note: The child must live in the Nottingham City Council Area.

Secondary 2022/ Infant 2022/ Junior 2022

The portal will allow application for Infant and Junior 2022 on 15 November 2021 for children living in the CITY OF NOTTINGHAM only. The deadline to submit your on time applications is 15 January 2022. Please ensure you have added or ensured all details are correct for your child in the my family section of the portal before starting your application. When completing your application you must ensure your full address is entered.

This Portal is no longer accepting applications for the Secondary 2022 admissions round. Please contact the school admissions team on 0115 8415568 to obtain a form to be considered for a LATE application.

The portal is now allowing applications for the 2021-2022 school year.

Please carefully read the guidance notes in the booklet 'Going to School in Nottingham' before completing this application. The booklet can be viewed by clicking the link or you can view a reference copy in Nottingham city schools or at Loxley House, Station Street, Nottingham NG2 3NG.

Check to see if you need to complete supplementary form(s) if making a preference for church school(s). For In year applications the Supplementary forms can be accessed by clicking the following link and scrolling to the bottom of the page. In-year Supplementary forms.

Please provide information if your child has medical needs or disability that can only be met at certain schools. We will require written evidence from a doctor, social worker or other relevant professional to support your application. Please provide documents to support your application if your child is "Looked After" (in the care of the Local Authority) or "previously Looked After" and provide details of which Local Authority.

For in-year applications please carefully read the summary guide to in-year admission arrangements which can be viewed by clicking the links highlighted or you can request a copy from the School Admissions Team on Tel: 0115 841 5568.

Please provide information if your child has medical needs or disability that can only be met at certain schools. Please provide information if your child has been out of education for more than one month or if your child is at risk of exclusion.

DO NOT APPLY for in year transfers to schools in another authority or for the following schools on this application: Bluecoat Aspley Academy, Bluecoat Wollaton Academy, Bluecoat Beechdale Academy, Bluecoat Trent, Bulwell Academy, Djanogly City Academy, Ellis Guilford Academy, Farnborough Academy, Firbeck Academy, Emmanuel School, Nottingham Academy, Nottingham Girls' Academy, Oakwood Academy, Fernwood School (Secondary), Nottingham Free School, Trinity Catholic School and Nottingham University of Science and Technology.

You will need to contact these schools directly for an in year transfer form.

For in-year applications we aim to process them within 15 school days. Please DO NOT contact us before the 15 school day period for a decision on your application.
